A family run 4 star bed & breakfast hotel

A very warm welcome awaits you at the historic Severn Arms. The building dates back to 1693, and is grade 2 listed, built as a hostelery its original purpose was to provide sustenance for the many bargemen who worked the River where goods would have been loaded and unloaded on the quay side opposite the Severn Arms.

The building was extensively altered during the reign of King George the third and retains many of the features from this period, in particular it’s large sash windows and its beautiful mahogany Georgian Staircase.

The Severn Arms is situated in Low Town, within the conservation area, and over looking the River Severn and its old historic bridge. It is within easy walking distance (or alternatively take a ride on the funicular railway) of the high street and its many restaurants and hostelries.

The Severn Arms has recently been refurbished inside and out and awarded 4 Star Guest Accommodation by Visit Britain. The Severn Arms has nine individually styled bedrooms, five have full en-suite facilities with a further two bedrooms on each floor sharing a bathroom on each floor. All the rooms have a colour flat screen television, direct dial access, hair dryers, tea/coffee making facilities and a recent addition welcomed by our guests wireless internet access in each room.

On the ground floor of the property is a stylish lounge/bar offering a full range of beer, wine and spirits, a great place to relax and plan or end your day.
The dinning room has been sympathetically decorated with its lovely leaded window looking out onto the river quay side. If the sun is shinning and you have time on your hands why not take a drink in the Severn Arms seclude courtyard with its decorated walls and many pot plants.
