The Bridgnorth Walk and Marathon

The Bridgnorth Walk was established in 1967 as a way of raising money for local, national and international charities. In 2017 Bridgnorth Lions took over as organisers. The event regularly raises over £100,000 for good causes.

This sponsored walk includes a full course starting on the High Street (including the route up Brown Clee) of 21.5 miles (34.7 km),  walkers aged over 50 have the option of not going to the Brown Clee summit, reducing the mileage to 19.8 miles (31.86 km). There is a Junior course of 7 mile (11.37 km) route which starts at Ditton Priors Village Hall. Following the junior walk there is also now the option of doing a 5 mile family course through Ditton Priors.

As of 2019, a Marathon was added, a major challenge for both experienced runners and for those attempting this distance for the first time.

The Bridgnorth Walk takes place annually on May Bank Holiday Monday.
